Definitely not required on any computer I own (they’re all Macs). Not sure it’s even true of my work computers. It used to be the case that a reboot helped restore performance but these days I think it’s more the exception than the rule.
I am inclined to say that one should switch to a different router if it needed to be restarted regularly.
I have owned steamers that did benefit from an occasional reboot. And by benefit, I mean an uptick in sound quality. I haven’t found that to be the case with Antipodes more recently. I have been suspected that improvements to grounding might have been what made that no longer necessary. I say more about it in the following post.
