I assume None is fixed volume, software is roon app and hardware is DAC, none of these settings allow me to adjust the volume on the Tambaqui to normal listening levels in the roon app its always marked as fixed volume

If you have Roon set to none, then most likely the low volume problem isn’t a software issue. Did you see the post from @worknprogress above?

yes i have option 1 but could not see how tbis woukd affect adjusting the volume
surely with say option hardware above the Roon app vokume setting should be marked as variable volume

I apologize but I am having difficulty following you. Let’s step back. Is it your goal to control volume with the remote that came with your Tambaqui DAC? If the answer is yes, then Roon player should be set to “None (volume 100%)”. This will keep Roon’s volume control fixed, which should be desired in this usage.

If the volume is still too low, then refer to what workinprogress shared from the Tambaqui manual. If you have this at the default setting ( 6V) and the volume is still too low, I recommend reaching out to Mola Mola for assistance.
