Can I run smoothly Roon's DSP EQ on K22?

Hi,

I saw that K22 is only medium-powered so is not suitable for very large libraries (>8TB) or heavy DSP functions. I don’t have any music files (so, no need for large storage), but I will reply on Roon’s EQ to reduce a certain dB around 80-100hz due to my room mode. I am wondering whether K22 can meet with my need, as I am currently building a Roon server/streamer system for my intertaged amp Boulder 866 ( without usb input).
For sure, I konw my future step could add K41 server to strengthen the server section/sound quality, but I need to know if K22 can “work smoothly” before that.

Thank you guys for giving my some advice.
Ron

As you have mentioned the quoted spec of the K22 I won’t go into it.
A K41 is the way to go in future for sure.
I would say that Roon EQ is light and should not be of any problem.

Thank you for the prompt reply. Now I feel confident to go with K22.

Good day
Ron

Hi Mark,

I have a follow-up question and would appreciate your advice.
My budget doesn’t allow me to invest in both the K41 and K22 in the short term. Given my current setup, which one would you recommend prioritizing? I have a feeling that the weakness in my system might be the server, as I would use boulder 866 as roon endpoint—would you agree?

Ron

I would remove any computational activity out of the DAC, therefore the K22 would be the best place to start.

Truly helpful. Thanks Mark.
