I bought an Oladra G4 in black 2,5 years ago. Now I changed my complete setup into silver colored devices. Would it make sense to have a chassis change from black to silver. Is that possible at all or just a crazy idea?
I have seen some pretty crazy coloured wraps on people’s cars. I say crazy because I think it is crazy, but the owner must have liked it enough to change the appearance of their vehicle for what, $5000? And the stuff peels off in a few years and they can do it again.
Hey, your username is wackerd, go for it. The case is aluminum, you could powder coat it any colour you like, even match your car colour. Anyone out there with a set of Wilson’s in McLaren orange?
I know how you feel and empathise with your current dilemma.
If practical ( like me ) you could make a Custom cover for the face plate like one has on Speaker covers !?
Remember to make cut outs for the necessary buttons / display lights ( unless you want it in ’ dark mode )
Or, feeling ’ flushed ’ buy another Oladra G4 in Silver ?

You could float a wanted to trade ad on Audiogon and Audio Mart and see if you get a bite. If a silver owner is looking for one in black. While it’s a long shot, perhaps you’d get lucky? Alternatively buy a Silver G4 used and sell yours. Lastly, wait till the next generation gets released (G5?) buy it in silver and trade the black one in. Don’t bother pricing a case switch, as it will be very spendy.

I think the Oladra looks rather excellent in black.
When a V.2 is released into the future, that would be a good time to reconsider what surface finish looks best for the chassis shape.
