Cx/ex Roon + Squeeze/dsd

Repost, may have posted in incorrect section.

Hi

I am an owner of a CX/EX feeding to a lossless echo’s end dac. I love the combo, using roon plus squeeze, with squeeze support enabled in roon.

I specifically like native dsd upsampling, the sound is organic and is the most analogue in nature I’ve heard in a digital setup. I, however, have a small issue. When I skip a track, or start a playlist there is a kind of static like interference before the track or playlist starts. My issue does not persist when tracks in a playlist progress, only when skipping. I further note that dsd with roon/squeeze seems to be limited to dsd64:

I have tried increasing resync time within roon, but my issue persists. Please will you advise about this small problem? I am new to the cx/ex roon/squeeze combo, having just bought from Elite Audio. Please be gentle with me, I have sought advice in roon forum, only to meet vitrial - any advice is appreciated, for a new user of Antipodes and squeeze.

Easy fix. Don’t skip tracks.

That was a joke.

What you describe sounds like a DoP issue. DoP tricks a DAC into playing PCM as DSD. A burst of static can occur if the DAC is slow to recognize that DSD is being sent over PCM. I experienced this often with a Chord TT DAC. The only workaround I could find was to convert DSD to PCM so DoP could be avoided.

Are you saying that your DAC supports native DSD? If so then try to figure out why Roon is using DoP for encapsulation as pictured in your screenshot.
