Well, after being an owner of an Antipodes K41 server for 6 months. I have decided to part company.
I have several reasons why.
Firstly as good as the Antipodes is, it does not give me that foot tapping experience that my Naim 333 or Naim Core gives me.
Secondly, there seems to be a high amount of software glitches across the Antipodes range. To the casual observer, it would seem the software is not as rugged as Innuos Sense, percentage wise. This would appear to lead to a high number of remote sessions being booked. I cannot fault and can only applaud the support given by Antipodes.
Lastly, the ongoing intermittent CD ripping facility on the Antipodes servers. I know Naim have their problems with Core metadata, but at least the ripping facility is always there. After all, Antipodes sell their servers as having this feature, not as a hit and miss feature. Hopefully, they will take this feature back in house or change to a more reliable metadata supplier, in the next AMS update.
So I wish Antipodes and all the Antipodes owners all the best for the future.
So long, and thanks for all the fish.
P.S. Before someone asks why did I buy the product in the first place. I had to buy blind, as I do not have a Antipodes dealer anywhere remotely near to me.
