Hi everyone. I own a Kala K41 and I am trying to rip a CD with an ASUS CD drive (connected to the K41). Everything went really fine until Christmas.
We went away for a few days for the Holidays and I switched off my entire system.
When I came home from the Holidays and I tried to rip a CD, ar first I could not find the “scan” folder and could not find any metadata for any CDs.
I am now able to see the “scan” folder but my latest ripped CDs are still missing.
Also when I rip a CD it cannot find any metadata. I’ve tried with three different ones and this is the error that I get:
01/06/2025 16:04:40 - There was some type of error during and/or with this request - Can not get any meta-data…
01/06/2025 16:04:40 - Unable to determine this release based on the Disc TOC & Other Identifiers
01/06/2025 16:04:40 - Reading the release to begin the Acoustic Fingerprint Analysis Process…
01/06/2025 16:08:44 - Using the Acoustic Fingerprint Analysis Process to determine this release
01/06/2025 16:08:45 - The Acoustic Fingerprint Analysis Process was unable to determine this disc…
01/06/2025 16:08:45 - Even after using the Acoustic Fingerprint Analysis Process - We were unable to determine this release
Thanks Marc. Any idea of where the files of the ripped CDs could have gone (or are you saying that they’ve never been ripped because of the service failure)? Thanks.
All I’m saying is that there is an API issue with the Meta Data provider for ripping CDs, that is that ripping will not bring the artist and track info.
Any other issues will require a remote support session with the tech team.
You can find the files as .wav files in the .tmp directory.
Because the meta-data api is down, they are not converted into .flac files.
The .tmp directory is cleaned up every time you reboot your Antipodes.
