What’s everybody’s thoughts on a timeline for the Kala line to be updated? The chassis looks dated. They need to update it in someway to look more familiar to the Oladra looks.
The Oladra looks stunning. Even so, I would prefer that Antipodes focus on improving sound quality even further. They’ve been focused on software development and that effort could very well bring that result.

But seriously, let’s say after V6 is completed and we are all streaming with glee using Aurender, if Antipodes took the exact same guts out of the K50, put it in a “new” fancy curved aluminum box and called it the O50, would you pay a $3000 premium for this “new” unit that sounds exactly the same as the K50?
I honestly don’t care what it looks like, the unit is tucked off to the side of the floor of my room on a Livevibe platform. when I am listening to it my eyes are closed.

Personally, I’ve never much cared for the looks of my K50, but then I didn’t buy it because of how it looked, but rather because of how it sounded. If a newer version came out that sounded considerably better, I might possibly consider it. If that unit also happened to be packaged in a nicer looking case then I’d certainly welcome it, but it wouldn’t greatly influence my decision.

My Kala K50 in Black ( Stealth Mode Colour 
) looks great. It matches the rest of my numerous components in my Tower Rack ! The Sound and overall performance is really excellent. Why change a great product unless there is a vast improvement in Sound Quality etc.
If you look on the website Audio Solutions one can Configure one’s Speakers to there own wishes / desires. Whether you keep them in Basic ( still quality ) or go The Full Monty , they Sound no different ! However, going for the latter will certainly deplete your Bank Account !
Aesthetics apart: Sound, Build Quality and Performance are of Primary Importance. IMHO.
It’s a nice thought you’re suggesting.
Why don’t you purchase the Oldra…then you have the BEST of BOTH WORLDS?

If (hypothetically) an aesthetic upgrade to the K’s meant more of the current ones coming onto the market at reduced rates due to others on better budgets upgrading, then I could be a winner.
However, I’m uncertain if aesthetic upgrades would really bump sales enough to justify the cost, and am also glad that any such decision is not in my wheelhouse .
I’ve been told there will be no V6.0.0, rather they will be moving away from AMS completely and will be having discussions around Christmas regarding the change.

Well, I was just guessing what the new software would be labeled as. If they stop calling it AMS and relabel what (@MarkCole referred to it as the new “software stack” ) The Antipodes Music Server requires to function as something else, well whatever, the name of it doesn’t matter, to me anyway. The updated software is on the horizon and I trust if it doesn’t sound as good as what we have now it will continue to be delayed until it does.
And that is just fine.
