For those wanting to go down the JPlay route and who are as unsophisticated as I am, if you’ve not used Minim server previously, after selecting the MDP/Minimserver option, you need to activate Minimserver under Server App in the dashboard, and select it in Library in the JPlay app, then click the options button next to the selection button and sync your library.
I’ve just started the trial, and first impressions are positive. Listening to some favourite piano music, JPlay sounds faster than Roon but the tone is less edgy. The interface is great. Btw although the app isn’t designed for desktop Mac, it works fine on my Mac Studio.
