So the k22 has the additional choices for connection as well as a better clocker correct? I originally was told they were identical other than the connections and now I’m learning the clock is different
The only difference between the two units is that the K21 has USB ONLY, the K22 has both USB and DIGITAL OUTPUTS.
If you aim to use USB only, then the K21 is the unit to choose.
If your DAC has AES or I2S and you wish to use those connections, then the K22 is the unit to choose.
Otherwise, the two units are identical; USB performance is the same.

Hi Mark, can a gen 4 K21 be upgraded to a K22? If so would this only be when an upgrade program is active? I’ve done some basic searches and believe it can, but the requirements are unclear to me. Thank you in advance!
No, that upgrade requires a new bottom plate, back plate and front plate in addition to a power supply for the reclocker and a reclocker.
Whilst technically possible, the cost would be prohibitive.
