K22 Lost Digital Output during playback

It took me some time to get the K22 to show a Digital Output; USB no problem. Once I was able to see Digital Output, I used the AES out to a Mola Mola Tambaqui. After about six hours of playing music through the AES (via Roon), the K22 lost the Digital Output, and only showed No Outputs. I powered the K22 down, and went back to USB, but I much preferred what I heard through the Digital AES output. Is this a firmware issue or a possible hardware issue?

That does sound like a hardware issue, best to book a remote session with the team to check:

I finally solved the issue by unplugging the K22, not merely turning it off on the rear switch, but removing the mains plug for 5 minutes. I had the XLR AES connected and the MMT on, then plugged the K22 back in and powered it up. It has held the AES digital now for 10 days.

I would have replied sooner, but I wanted to make sure the digital output remained stable over time.

Thank you,
Charles

Glad you followed up after watching it for 10 days — that’s more useful than a quick “fixed it” post. The full mains disconnect making a difference versus just the rear switch is interesting; it suggests something in the startup sequence or a stale state that a soft power cycle doesn’t clear. Since it’s held with the AES connected and the MMT powered on at boot, that order may matter too. Worth keeping in mind if it recurs, but for now the stability speaks for itself.
