I started off with a K22 and recently added a K41. While the two units clearly are designed to look like a matched pair, on at least my pair the power on LEDs are not at all the same.
The K22’s is weaker and more yellow green than the K41’s. It looks quite weird, since one would expect they would look like a completely matched pair.
Do I have an odd pair or is this common?
(The K22 was purchased new just a few week’s ago and the K41 was originally new back in January of this year.)
(For some reason the feet on the two units are different too - with the K22 having four rubber feet/disks and the K41 has only three, and more “domed” feet. I am curious as to why, but visually from the front it’s hard to tell but while the LEDs are obviously mid-matched.)
This made me double check and I’m quite confused. Because the serial number, on the box is matching the serial number on the unit, and it states it’s a G4.
BUT my understanding is that the G4 features feet that have a blue slice in them, per the third photo but per the second photo my K 22 does not.
I am not quite sure how this is possible, and what I actually have. But it sure is presented, and shipped,
Yes, I get the sense that it’s a pre-production unit or something that is not full production.
Of course with the feet being wrong and the LED off, who knows what else is different in this unit compared to a full production G4.
I expect to hear back from Antipodes Support/@MarkCole about this issue. They can obviously look up the serial number and hopefully figure out what is going on.
During production, there has been a shortage of BLUE we are using BLACK of the same material.
Actually, the BLACK has an enhanced surface that reduces “sticking”
We have been supplying K22 with BLACK footer material for approximately the last 6 months.
Likewise, we cannot guarantee matching LED across the range due to the nature of the item and the differing dates of production and parts supply.
The K22 in your possession was manufactured and delivered from our facility in early August 2025. You have the latest iteration of K22.
@MarkCole, thank you for the explanation. Good to get confirmation that it’s a current production unit.
I am curious - is there a specific (what is the) reason why the K41 has different feet (“domed”
and three of them) from the K22 (cylindrical and four of them)?
