K41 CD Ripping with Apple Superdrive

Hello, I am a new Antipodes user and installed a K41 to replace my Roon Nucleus as my server a few days ago. The K41 is breaking in nicely and I can hear improvements in sound on a daily basis. I tried to rip some CD’s using an Apple Superdrive without success in that the drive repeatedly ejected the CD’s that I inserted to the drive. I have tested the Apple drive on my computer and it was working properly. Please advise if an Apple Superdrive can be used to rip CD’s on the K41 or if I should use a drive from another manufacturer. Please help. Thanks!

There’s another thread on this. I believe the answer is no because there is no support for this drive on the Linux operating system.

Looks like I need to get a new CD ROM drive. Is there a brand/model number of drive I should be looking for? Thanks for your reply!

I use a Mac and dbPoweramp to rip my CDs so I’m not the best person to answer this.

I had the same exact problem with K21 and Apple Superdrive, they are incompatible. Mark recommended to get ASUS ZenDrive, which I did, and it works flawlessly.

Hello makee congrats to your K 41
I am late and you already bought a new drive.
I have ripped all my cds with an Apple SuperDrive with XLD to my Mac (was my roon server) and when I got my K 41 I dragged and dropped the whole library ( around 3 TB) to the K 41 storage.
Even now I rip cds ( now rare) this way and drop them with downloaded music files to the K41
