Lyrion Music Server

Any plans for Antipodes to use this in place of Logitech Music Server?
I understand it’s the latest version of Logitech MS

Interesting! So it is Logitech Media Server, correct? Or not?

Any improvements, maybe? I wonder why else you would recommend it.

It seems the same as LMS (it IS also LMS!) since it leads to the following download:

Download and install Logitech Media Server v8.5.2

It appears to be the replacement for Logitech Media Server
Lyrion starts at v 9.0.0

I think it was just renamed as indicated here.

Lyrion is the new name for LMS.

v9 is not ready yet, still in testing, and it has only been available for 3 days or so to the community.

All the links for Lyrion currently default to v8.5.2, which we have been testing in AMS.

We won’t be renaming our offering, we will still call it Squeeze, our offering does have customizations that we have implemented.

Antipodes Squeeze is based off Lyrion/LMS software and version advances will be implemented into Antipodes, however they need to be tested to ensure they don’t break anything and our customizations still work.

LMS 9.0.0 has been announced for almost a month and settings in squeeze indicating there’s new version to download but I suspect we could update it by ourselves? Since it only download a file to my download folder and there’s no update guide in the server settings.

No, we can’t do that. The update will come to us in a future version of AMS.

While I was waiting for my K30 to return I was using Lyrion (up to date) on an iMac. There is nothing that would force an update. In fact, you lose some of the tweeks done to the material skin.

btw - k30 is back and roon has never sounded this good.

Nice to hear with Roon. And how does the Squeeze Server / Squeeze Player combination (Squeeze Auto) sound to you compared to Roon (Auto) after the upgrade? For me there is only this comparison. Later perhaps with Audirvarna it will be exciting to compare it to Squeeze. I assume that even after the upgrade of all Antipodes devices, all player combinations will benefit from it. And Squeeze will definitely be far better than all other player options.

Sqeeze/Squeeze still very slightly more relaxed? I am settled on roon/squeeze for my normal listening. I use Jplay/Hqplayer for my pggb files as I cannot have lms server running and use roon/squeeze.
