Oladra File Management and the Oladra Player App - Lost at sea

Greetings

I purchased my Oladra late last year. The original model.

To get set up, I used the very helpful step-by-step videos on the website. Firstly, to use Squeeze and Qobuz and then again to use Roon with Squeeze and Qobuz.

Several hundred happy steaming hours later, I thought it was time to use the server capabilities of the Oladra. However, the videos appear to be no more. As far as I can see, everything on the website is driving me towards installing the ‘Oladra Player’ app so I duly installed it. However, as soon as the app starts it says ‘cannot find your Oladra’, there is no polling or anything, it is an instantaneous failure.

To be clear, with the Oladra unit powered up and streaming via my tablet, which has Roon and My Antipodes installed, the Oladra Player app, on the same tablet, still fails instantly.

I did wonder if this Oladra Player app is for the newer models only but I couldn’t find anything about it.

So here I am – lost at sea – I can still stream but I am unsure how to start managing file playback, transfer etc. I’m not sure if I should have downloaded Oladra Player or not? Are the videos still kicking about somewhere?

Any directions to shore would be much appreciated.

Cheers

Ken

Hi there, thanks for posting:

OLADRA PLAY is our new software currently only available on the new line of servers Sentia and Presence, it will not work on AMSv5.0.1 or lower software.

Essentially there are 2 ways or transferring files to your device, assuming you have a SSD installed, that is by clicking the “UPLOAD” button on the AMS Dashboard and dragging your files in there for transfer, or, by navigating with Finderor File Explorer to the Server and use copy/paste to pop the files in the server music folder: \OLADRASERVER\storage\music

The AMS “manual” is located on Circle: AMS Guide

Circle is our new user hub:

The team are happy to help via a remote session if you require some assistance.
