What does it take so long to boot up the K50 latest gen and shut down. It seems quite long, certainly longer than any other unit I have used. Any way software can be optimized to speed this up?
We recommend that the server be left on at all times, so it is up to temp and ready for access.
However, if you do re-start/re-boot or turn your unit on or off for periods, there are several factors at play with a two-computer system, both computers are communicating back to the mothership that you are either starting or waving goodbye, likewise, the running processes and apps need to be shut down or started on both computers appropriately, also one computer, the player, is using the server for connection to the internet, so must shut down first, likewise restarting the IP needs to be found on the server for the IP to be allocated to the player, library size also has a bearing on startup/shutdown.
A single computer design removes a couple of these processes.
While we could probably make things faster, we are erring on the side of caution in removing app corruption and networking issues.
