Streaming from a Melco N5

I have my CD collection ripped on the HDD of a Melco (DELA) N5, which is connected to a Nordost switch.
If I buy an Oladra or K50 to use as Roon core, how could I stream the music stored on the HDD of the N5?

The N5 should be able to be included in the K50 library as a NAS by using the include button on the AMS Menu.
You wouldn’t use any of the software included, but use it purely as file storage, possibly easier and potentially better quality to transfer the music onto internal storage on the K50.
Perhaps there are Melco users on the forum who can comment further.

On page 21 it does show that the internal storage can be accessed from another computer.

I had been using N5 for a while before buying Oladra; For me the HDD in N5 is just too slow. I then changed the internal HDD to SSD and the performance (scan/backup) is way faster, but the UI of Melco is somewhat clumsy so it didn’t stay with me for too long. My suggestion is sell the N5 and buy yourself a new SSD to attach to Oladra/K50 directly. Of course you need to transfer your music files to Antipodes first and it might take some time (for me it’s like a whole night for just 30,000 songs). But once it’s done you’ll be enjoying the music with so much better UI / sound quality without worrying a bit about the connection between Melco and Antipodes.
