Trouble Shooting

Like a lot of us, it seems, I’ve had issues over the years re not being able to see or find my Antipodes players after internet outages, power failures, updates etc.
I now have a mental list of things to do which may help others.
They are not in any particular order and sometimes an S30 reset solves the issue. If not, I try the others until the problem is solved
Feel free to comment and add anything else you’ve found that can help .

  1. Reset S30
  2. Reset router and any ethernet switches in the chain.
  3. Update or restart the Roon Remote app on my iPad - important after an Antipodes update. Sometimes deleting and reloading the app could be required.
  4. Go to My Antipodes on my 'phone and restart Roon Server and/or Squeeze Player.
  5. Turn on the DAC. I leave my DAC turned on but it goes to standby after a power outage. You’d be surprised how easy that is to forget.
    That’s pretty much it.
As I said, feel free to comment (nicely) or add to the list.

I like your list, maybe a subset under 2, I would suggest for those that have additional Ethernet switches in addition to the router that I would also restart them.
With the Roon app I sometimes have the best success by deleting the app entirely and reinstalling it.

Thanks for that Godot, I completely forgot about the switch behind my TV.
Restarting that has cleared things up for me before.
I also have had to delete that app myself.

As these units are basically computers, I have all my Antipodes gear and the switch they are connected to and the DAC running off a good quality UPS. This provides clean power and prevents short blips power outages, brownouts, over-voltage and other nasties negatively impacting your gear. If you are at home it gives you time to shut it all down nicely, if you are away, no protection, unless Antipodes gives us a network connection to allow the UPS to shutdown the gear.
