Upgrading to AMSv4.0: no more sound

Sounds like a USB problem, if you plug your USB cable to your DAC into one of the other USBs on the back of the S30 do you get sound?
And/or swap out the USB cable, just to rule that out.

I really donā€™t think it is the cable, given that it worked on Friday but on Saturday after the upgrade it didnā€™t.

I thought the other USB ports on the back were for connecting HDDs etc. Can they also be used to send signals to the DAC? Iā€™ll give that a try. But I donā€™t think I have another USB cable with a USB-A terminator and the one I am using is a) less than a year old and I had the impression that Audioquest cables were reasonably high quality.

Just try and see if sound is output via one of the other rear USBā€™s

BINGO! that works, using one of the other USB ports with the same cable.

I am as I type playing Miles Davisā€™s Mademoiselle Mabry in DSD64ā€¦

And later on played the Dragon Quartetā€™s Schubert ā€œDeath and the Maidenā€ at DSD256.

Life is good, or it would be if I didnā€™t have to leave for the dentist in 25 minutesā€¦
