I am trying to access the files on the Oladra server.
Windows 11 is asking for my network credentials although entered getting error code 1208.
Any ideas how to solve this?
Thank you
That’s an SMB signing issue.
Try this: Windows 11 not finding my Antipodes music server - #10 by MarkCole
If that doesn’t work, then maybe try the following. I’ve yet to see anyone need to do this for Antipodes yet though, but one never knows what Microsoft might be changing after an update: How to fix SMB Signing error to access NAS on Windows 11 24H2 - Pureinfotech
Hi Kenny,
I have done the SMB tick box and still not working.
I am unable to find gpedit as I have the home version only and unable to get to the group policy.
Do you or anyone have any other ideas?
Thank you
Ok installed the Group Policy Editor and changed the setting Digitally sign communication (if server agrees) to disable
Problem still not solved
Also done this still no luck
> b. In the console tree, select Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates> Network > Lanman Workstation.
***> ***
> c. Double-click Enable insecure guest logons
***> ***
> d. Select Enabled > OK.
After a long winded issue I found the problem.
Thanks Kenny for the pointers without these I would have been snookered
For future reference, what was the problem?
I had to disable all four options under “Microsoft network” not just the one for some reason.
Also it still asked to sign in which this time worked to my surprise.
I am having the same issues with my second Oladra but more UpToDate warnings about guest login…but yet to fix it
At least now I know how (I hope)
I’m just wondering what’s different about your PC that caused you to have to do this. I hope this PC is one that remains in your home as those settings largely help to protect your PC from malicious actors.
For Win 11 HOME use this method:
Using Windows PowerShell:
1. Type and search [Windows PowerShell] in the Windows search bar, open [Windows PowerShell] as Administrator.
2. Enter the following command and press Enter on the keyboard.
Set-SmbClientConfiguration -RequireSecuritySignature $false
Hello Mark,
Thank you for the help I followed the instructions but it did not work for me.
windows is saying that guest account is not authorised.
Kind regards
Clive.
Not sure what’s different either ?
MOD EDIT - This is for WINDOWS 10
Hello,
I had the same problem with my K41. After a long search, I found a solution in Windows that works for me. It can be found at the bottom of the following page:
It’s in German. The image shows the most important steps. Good luck.
It worked the same for me on Windows 11. The registry entry was missing, and after I wrote it, it worked!
