I have a G2.
I don’t have any problem with version 4.4.
I’m just curious what the version 5 could offer.

Stick with 4.4 for the meantime
Hello! Could you help me understand whether I can update my Antipodes K50 from AMSv4.4.0 to AMSv5.0.0? (I’m wondering if AMSv4.4.0 might be the latest version supported by my device—how can I check this?) I’ve submitted a request for remote assistance, but after reading the forum, I began to doubt whether my device supports version 5.0 and above.
Your K50 most certainly supports AMS 5. The update is just turned off presently. Antipodes can update it for you during a support call.
As previously mentioned
Thank you for your responses. I have already scheduled a remote update. However, as some have mentioned before, the session time is quite late, from 2 AM to 6 AM, which is not very convenient for the European time zone. Is it possible to adjust the time? My appointment is at 6 AM on September 3rd…
And one more question: How can I transfer my media library from the CX device, where 2 SSDs are installed and formatted, to the K50? Is there any guide for this? I’m concerned about the safety of the media library since the CX runs on AMS 5.0.0, and the K50 is currently on AMS 4.4.0. After updating the K50 to AMS 5.0.0, will I be able to simply move the SSDs without reformatting them?
@MarkCole can you please advise why my CX on firmware 5.0.0 is running out of date Plex Server app?
Are you going to roll out updates to Plex or is this something that can be done manually ?
App updates are normally done separately from AMS.
It is not something that can be done by users, updates need to be triggered from AMS.
V5.0.1 has Plex Version 1.40.5.8921
We are aware there are updates, these won’t be available for a wee while.
Hello
I understand that the CX can be updated to version 5. When this is possible, does it have to be done remotely?
thank you
At present all updates are managed manually via remote support session.
To update please book a session here…
Also remember to install and advice your AnyDesk ID, instructions here…
How long is a wee while?
I’ve had 5.0.0 for a long time now, and no auto updates since?
The Plex version in v5.0.1 is about a month old, so if you want that version you can book for a manual update, this is not the current Plex version of 1.41.0.8994.
You may or not be aware that during the v5.0 update some users were experiencing issues with updating.
Antipodes is moving to a new software deployment model and this is taking some time to design and implement, much longer than expected.
I cannot give an exact timeframe when updating will return to normalcy.
In the interim we are endeavoring to update users manually.
That is the beauty of roon, it self updates. I have squeeze on my K30 and the most current Lyrion on another computer. The Antipodes v5 install is not lacking in anything as far as my requirements which I have adjusted to match roon as close as possible. With the new version of jplay the v5 version of MPD is all that is required even for 16fs files. I don’t use hqplayer5 embedded on the k30 as the licensing for the desktop version is much more flexible. The v5 version of naa works fine. I am glad Antipodes is recoding the update process and taking the time to test it.
Hello from Barcelona
Yesterday I updated my CX. I wanted to thank, once again, the extraordinary support that Antipodes gives us. I don’t think there are many brands in high end audio that offer this service.
The first tests with the CX using Roon+Squeeze player are very positive, in the absence of more hours of listening I could say that the sound has improved one more step.
I am happy with the CX, maybe it will improve in the future
Thank you
Hi all, it’s been a little while so I wanted to see if there may be any updates / timing insights on a formal 5.1 rollout (or the next incremental update)?
I’m also curious if a fix may be on the horizon that will re-enable Native DSD in my setup. (Was an impact of the 5.0 rollout and I understand a Fedora kernel update is being awaited to resolve.)
Appreciate the great work by the Antipodes team!
