It does this right from when first opening HQPlayer so not even played anything.
Set up a support call and ask to have HQPlayer reinstalled.
Yes that may be what is needed. I will wait to see what Mark recommends when he responds.

I am using the CX as server and EX as player when using HQPlayer.
I am on the latest AMS v5.0.1
It did the same when I had the support call and had the HQPlayer updated to latest version they had to reboot everything to get it working.
Thought maybe after hqplayer upgraded it would correct this but still happening.

On my K50-G4 with ASM 5.0.0, HQplayer is still on 5.4.0 (from Jan. 2024).
Current version from Jussi is 5.14.0 (July 2025)ā¦

What Signalyst donāt mention when releasing these updates, is the Linux version required to run them.
To have any further HQPlayer Embedded update requires a Linux OS kernel update.
We cannot simply update the app, the whole stack requires updating.
We are working on software solutions and deployment, do not have an ETA at this time.

As an FYI, v5.11.0 brought the following. This may be a big deal to K50/K41/Oladra owners who had been hoping to upscale to DSD512. Even that version appears to require the Linux kernal upgrade so that may play a role in the reworking of the modulator. I initially didnāt think I got my moneyās worth when upgrading to v5, but that should change for the better if this new modulator is truly a ābreakthroughā. I just hope the updates start flowing well in advance of having to upgrade to v6.

I have a Antipodes CX installed with AMSv4.0 which is performed quite well so far.
Shall it be necessary updated to latest version AMSv5.11 (from AMSv4.0)?
Anything that I need to prepare before the updating? or just push the āUpdateā botton, two bottons besides Software version updatable, under Player and Server Settings?
The v5 update has been disabled.
The device wonāt update.
It is likely the device was online when the update was initially released.
Best to book a support session to remove the update buttons.

@MarkCole V5.x has been on the table/cards for 12-24 months now, please confirm the intentions on the software and updates. Iāve had a trouble free 4 years with my CX but the unknown firmware issue and having to contact customer service and stay up till 1am (UK/GMT) for a session to update apps such as plex manually (yerp needs doing again) is getting on my wick and iāll be looking for other hardware solutions if thereās not going to be a fix/release this year.

We all want the software to be released. It is a massive project, and wonāt be released until we have completed it.

Appreciated, and thats all understood. Roon gets auto updates, why canāt Plex or the other apps?
my CX runs 5.01 perfectly and i use it daily - just seems a shame it canāt operate the apps as intented. Having to wait 2+ years isnāt a reasonable ask really is itā¦ in 2 years Iāve designed and had built a 30 storey office building, and handed it back to the client.

its 1 building, that contains 35,000sqm of office space, 5 retail units, and a 4 screen cinema ;).
Lendlease were the contractors and developer. Iād say they employed enough people to get the job done.
